Bradgate Park and Swithland Woods
Bradgate Park is an 840 acre county deer park. It is situated about 4miles away from Lavender House. It is ideal for picnics walking and exploring. There are three Car Parks at all the main entrances, Warren Hill, Hallgates (Cropston) and Newtown Linford . There are three tea rooms in Newtown Linford, Jades being our favourite and another Café in the middle of the Park.
The Beacon
Beacon Hill Country Park is situated close to the village of Woodhouse Eaves. It is within 5 minutes’ drive or 30 minutes’ walk of Lavender House. It is one of Leicestershires highest points and the view from the top is breath taking. Woodhouse Eaves has three pubs. The Wheatsheaf , The Curzon, and The Bulls Head . The restaurant Gino’s is an excellent Italian and also offers a Pizza takeaway service from their indoor clay pizza oven.
Quorn Railway Station Great Central Railway
Quorn Station is two minutes’ walk from Lavender House .The Station has its own tea room which is open every day. Steam engines run on most weekends and various steam events take place throughout the year.
